Position: VP of Business Development

Status: Full-time, exempt

Location: Remote

Compensation: $160,000 - $200,000 (commensurate with experience)


Desired Relevant Experience: Experience selling and leading business development/sales personnel in the physical or mental wellness fields. Preference for candidates with experience selling concierge and/or private pay services.

About O’Connor Professional Group: The O’Connor Professional Group (OPG) offers a continuum of services to guide individuals and families through the behavioral health industry by providing concierge-level care, identifying suitable treatment and aftercare options, and assisting in creating and implementing sustainable recovery plans. We help address the needs of those struggling with behavioral health issues including substance use disorders, mental health issues, eating disorders, and mood and personality disorders. We also support individuals on the autism spectrum, aging adults with dementia and young adults who are struggling with transitions to independence.


Job summary: The VP of Business Development at O’Connor Professional Group will lead the business development team to achieve or exceed an annual revenue target for the company while also overseeing marketing operations. This position will work closely with the executive leadership team and will positively and proactively collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders to further the organization’s mission, values, and service lines. Such projects will require cross-functional collaboration between various departments and interdisciplinary members within the organization. The ideal candidate for this role has a demonstrated track record in sales, supervisory experience, as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills. This is a remote position with a travel component to the role (approximately 25-50% of overall time) related to in-person business development activities.


Overall responsibilities:


  • Achieving an individual revenue target
  • Motivating business development team members (approximately 4 employees) to reach annual sales goals (both individual and team goals) as well as other established monthly/quarterly KPIs and metrics
  • Supervising the professional development of Director of Marketing
  • Overseeing team metrics related to sales activities (i.e. outreaches, meetings, leads)
  • Fostering a growth culture throughout the business development team and related work functions
  • Developing and tracking sales and marketing budgets
  • Managing key existing relationships while also developing new relationships in strategic areas
  • Coordinating leads with intake team and helping to maintain strong relationships with referral sources
  • Coordinating leads with the intake team as necessary to ensure a positive experience for the referrer and client
  • Collaborating with Director of Marketing and an outside agency around digital marketing operations and strategically leveraging marketing content to drive referrals
  • Developing processes related to pipeline management, strategic partnerships, and referral relations
  • Leading any relevant sales and marketing meetings
  • Performing, when necessary, business development activities in-person including one-on-one meetings, conferences, speaking engagements, etc.
  • Developing a strategic plan intended to drive business development efforts related to conferences (attending, sponsoring, speaking at, etc.), associations, and relevant organizations.
  • Other duties as determined appropriate
